Israel, Jordan and Egypt combined
This is a 7 days private tour that gives you the opportunity to visit 3 different countries – Israel, Jordan and Egypt with the special taste of each one of them.
The tour starts from central Israel – either from Jerusalem, Ben Gurion airport of Tel Aviv and can end either in Cairo or back in Israel. We can operate the tour starting from Amman or Cairo as well.
It is better to arrive in Israel the day before and start the tour the day after your arrival.
Day 1 – Jerusalem Sightseeing Tour – Full day tour
A in-depth Jerusalem tour exploring Jerusalem’s rich history and most famous sites. For visitors to Israel looking for a Jerusalem tour that offers an objective perspective on the major events that have shaped Jerusalem’s dramatic history. We explore many of Jerusalem’s major sights and finest examples of architecture. Visiting splendid Orthodox churches, The Islamic school and the Citadel of David. This Jerusalem tour has no particular religious or political orientation but aims at offering an in-depth perspective on Jerusalem’s historic significance to the three monotheistic religions which are so deeply rooted here. It also covers the turbulent political events which have ravaged the city throughout history. This Jerusalem tour explores the best of Jerusalem’s splendid architecture and takes in its most scenic views.
Jerusalem- The Old City
Starting Early on the Mount of Olives we begin with a briefing on the history of Jerusalem whilst taking in the views of the Old City below. We make our way to the Garden of Gethsemane where we visit the famous Church of All Nations and the beautiful Orthodox Church dedicated to Mary Magdalene. From here we make our way up to the old city walls and begin our tour of Jerusalem’s Old City at the Western wall. The Western wall is by far the most sacred site in Jerusalem for Jews, it is situated next to the temple mount. We visit the fascinating excavations of the city wall tunnels and visit the Dome of the Rock (if open), which is Islam’s most sacred place in Jerusalem. From here we make our way through the Jewish Quarter to the Pools of Bethesda near the Lion’s gate. We visit the Islamic school which enjoys spectacular views of the Dome of the Rock. Beside the school we find the picturesque Franciscan Monastery of the Flagellation, this marks the beginning of the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa). The Via Dolorosa has many sights of interest along its length and it leads through the Arab quarter and Arab market to the massive Christian Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We tour the various decorative chapels within this imposing Church including the hill of Golgotha (Calvery) and the Tomb of Jesus. From here we head to the Citadel of David and tour the museum and ancient ruins. A short walk from here through the Armenian quarter and we reach Zion’s gate and Mount Zion. Here we find both the Last Supper Room and the traditional site of the Tomb of King David. We take in the views as the sun sets over Jerusalem and our packed day of Jerusalem sight-seeing draws to an end. Night in a 4* hotel in Jerusalem (included).
Jerusalem
Day 2 – Day along the Dead Sea: following breakfast driving first to Ein Gedi Nature Reserve near the Dead Sea. We hike through the Nahal David. After visiting the largest waterfall in the reserve we hike up to Shulamits Spring. We also visit the nearby Chalcolitic Temple, and the Ein Gedi Spring. Returning to our vehicle we drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to the famous fortress of Massada (King Herods Palace). Although there is the option to ascend by cable car, fit hikers generally prefer to ascend this famous mountain on “The Messengers Path”. This route enables us to get a closer look both at the Herodian water cisterns and the Roman siege network which was constructed to crush the Jewish resistance. After touring Massada we descend to our car on the historical ‘Snake Path’. We end the day with a dip in the Dead Sea. Night will be spent in a 4* hotel in Aqaba Jordan (options to upgrade).
Day 3 – Petra Tour: This is the only group tour day of the program, Pickup from your hotel in Aqaba in the morning, we start our day in the Kingdom of Jordan, from here a 2 hour drive takes us to the ‘Lost City of Petra. An absolute must for all visitors to the region. Having walked for ½ hrs through the imposing Canyon (Wadi Siq) at its entrance, that awesome and monumental moment when you first step foot in Petra is upon you. Counted amongst the wonders of the ancient world, Petra is an archeological, anthropological and geological phenomenon. Your private guide will explain the history, legends, myths and truths of this astonishing city carved 2000 years ago from the red Sandstone Mountains. We enjoy a buffet lunch in Petra and we leave Petra in the afternoon for crossing back the border.
Recommendation for a private day tour (in Petra and Rum with supplement) will allow us a short 1.5 hour jeep tour of Wadi Rum. There we board our 4X4 jeep, driven by professional Bedouin drivers onto the legendary sandstone area of Wadi Rum. The enchanting Wadi Rum is an area almost surreal in its distinctive beauty. We cross red sand dunes and explore the beautifully eroded pillars of sandstone rock. We visit the famous spring of Lawrence of Arabia and the canyon of ‘Haz Ali’ . It was in the area of Wadi Rum that Lawrence was inspired to write his book – ‘The Seven Pillars of Wisdom’, Wadi Rums beauty remains intact and it’s breathtaking scenery is still an inspiration for those who travel there. By evening we will cross the border (through Eilat) into Sinai for our night in a nice hotel along the coast.

Day 4 – St. Catherine and Cairo: Following breakfast we will start our day in the Sinai desert. The sacred Monastery of St. Catherine in Sinai’s spectacular High Range Area remains one of the most important sights of pilgrimage in the world. The monastery was erected in the 6 century and stands at the foot of Mount Sinai (the holy mountain on which Moses received the Ten Commandments). Greek Orthodox monks care it for today in the same tradition as in centuries past. We spend the morning exploring this miraculous and fascinating before setting off on foot for the summit of Mt Sinai.
A two hour hike takes us to the summit where we rest and enjoy the sunset and the incredible panoramic views across this truly enchanting land. Having descended Mount Sinai we return to the village of St Catherine and drive to Cairo to our 4* hotel there.
Day 5 – Pyramids in Cairo: following breakfast we go directly on to the only remaining wonder of the ancient world – the great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, we take our time exploring the pyramids and the sphinx and learn of Egypt’s rich and fascinating past. We continue our tour into Cairo and by evening go back to the hotel. The nearby sites of Memphis and Sakkara can be added to the itinerary for an additional $25. From the pyramids we drive into Old Cairo to take in the main sights including in the Mohamed Ali mosque and the famous Coptic churches. We end the day with a scenic felucca boat experience, sailing along the Nile on a traditional Nile sailboat. Our hotel is a comfortable four-star accommodation but five-star upgrades are available if preferred

Day 6 – Luxor and Karnak: today we start with an early morning flight to Luxor- here we find the spectacular temple complex dedicated to the God triad – Amun, Mut and Chons. We see the remains of the avenue of sphinxes which originally connect the temple of Luxor to the temple of Karnak and we don’t leave Luxor without fist visiting the ruins of Karnak. Here the temple complex is overwhelmingly huge in all dimensions. It’s the second most popular site in Egypt after the pyramids of Giza. The utter vastness and its enormous structures, make it unique in the ancient world. We explore the Precinct of Amon-Re, by far the largest of all Egypt’s temple halls. On the opposite banks of the Nile we visit the Valley of the Kings where Egypt’s Pharaohs and royalty were entombed, we explore at least one of the major tombs that are open to the public (various tombs are opened at the discretion of the authorities, depending on ongoing excavations) We also visit the Valley of the Queens where the pharaoh’s wives and close relations were entombed in decorative burial chambers. Eve- we take a flight back to Cairo and spend another night in the same hotel.
Day 7 – 2nd day in Cairo: Following breakfast we spend the morning exploring the famous and vast Cairo Museum. Here most of Egypt’s priceless treasures can be viewed, including the treasures retrieved from the burial chamber of Tuthankhamun. After lunch we visit the highlights of old Cairo and take time to experience the sights and sounds of the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar, and Muhamad Ali Mosque. From here we begin our return journey to Eilat, arriving late at night or ending the tour in Cairo airport.
