We recommend you to spend more than a day in this amazing city. When you have two days, then you take a tour that goes along the chronological development of the incredible a history of this city and get a great understanding of the history and religions of Jerusalem.
On day 1 we start with the beginnings of Jerusalem in the City of David over 4000 years ago. We take you underground to the Temple Mount area like the Jewish pilgrims 2000 years ago, most likely just like Jesus did then. Then we visit the Temple Mount where we find the Dome of the Rocks and the Al Aqsa Mosque. Then we visit the Jewish Quarter.
The second day is dedicated to all three religions and we will spend a lot of time in the Old Cite and its different quarters.

First day:
The City of David is an amazing site that bring us back some 4000 years in history and gives us insights into different moments of time, such as the defense against the Assyrian invasion in the eighth century B.C.E. or the Great Revolt in the year 70 C.E. It is possible to see only some archeological relicts that will bring the past alive and it is possible to see more of the site, including the 800 m long tunnel built 2800 years ago which is filled with water and an incredible building project that kids and adults today really enjoy. This is one of the most fascinating archeological sites you will ever visit. Excavations are ongoing and you can walk on recently excavated paths underground to the area in front of the Wailing Wall, where the walk up to the Temple Mount starts.
The Temple Mount is important for the three large monotheistic believers and on it we find two fascinating buildings – the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. Already for several years we can usually visit only the mount and not enter the buildings, but the visit of the mount is still fascinating and also offers great views over the Mount of Olives and the Old City.
The Jewish Quarter is one of the 4 quarters in the Old City. Here we can visit Synagogues, some old and some rebuild according to the historic ones. We will go underground to see for example the Roman Cardo and other parts that are a window into previous chapters of Jerusalem’s history.
If time allows (this depends also on your preferences) we can visit for example the Mehane Yehuda Market or the Shuk (market in Hebrew) which is worth the visit – just to get lost in the bustle of people, to taste the best vegetables and fruits ever or enjoy the local foods sold here, where you can find trendy small gourmet restaurants next to street food stands that offer Falafel, Shawarma and much more.

Second day:

We start with an introduction to the city from the summit of The Mount of Olives, then we walk down through the famous cemetery to the Garden of Gethsemane. We continue through the Muslim Quarter where we can enjoy the market near the famous Damascus Gate. The roof of the Austrian Hospice offers an amazing viewpoint over the crowded paths of the Old City. We carry on on the footsteps of Jesus along the Stations of the cross – the Via Dolorosa, till the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, inside are the final five stations. Within this massive church is the Hill of Calvary and the tomb of Jesus. The Via Dolorosa also passes by the Old City’s oriental “Suq” (Bazaar). We continue to the “Western Wall” or the “Wailing Wall”, the last remnants of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. The Western Wall is the most sacred site for Jews in Israel and the world. Nearby, on the Temple Mount we find Jerusalem’s famous golden dome – The Dome of the Rock. Towards the end of the day we visit King David’s Tomb and the “Room of the Last Supper” on Mount Zion if time allows.

Jerusalem is without doubt one of the most fascinating cities and even people who have lived here for years can continue to discover new and unknown sites. We can arrange numerous tour options on your second day in Jerusalem and below you can see just a few of our favorite options.

Some guests choose just one or two of the below above and enjoy some time on the bazaars of the Old City. If you have a certain site in mind that we don’t mention below, please just ask us about it.
Here some additional sites that we can include on our 2 days (this will most likely mean that we will have to drop one of the sites above, but please enquire and we will explain):

Bethlehem in the morning: Bethlehem is the birthplace of Christ and where we find the Church of Nativity. Israeli guides can’t always guide here and therefore a local guide will accompany you here (Supplement of 160$ total for the group).
Yad VaShem is Israel’s official memorial of the Holocaust and the complex contains the Holocaust Museum and other memorials. The important visit takes a minimum of 3 hours.
Ein Karem is believed to be the birthplace of John the Baptist and the village is located beautifully in the hills near Jerusalem. While strolling through the village we enjoy the views on the “Gorny” or “Moscovia” convent with its golden onion shaped domes. We can visit the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation. The courtyard of the convent of the Sisters of Sion is a quiet retreat and offers views over the mountains of the region.
The newer parts of Jerusalem are also interesting – the archeological part of the Israel Museum was recently completely rearranged and offers an outstanding presentation of the history of the region. Highlights are the model of the Second Temple Jerusalem (before the year 70 C.E.) and of course the famous Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are preserved and presented. The Knesset and the High Court of Justice are located in the government quarter and near the Israel Museum.
