From Jerusalem to Eilat- On the Way

Many of Israel’s most impressive attractions are located between central Israel and Eilat. We offer several one-day guided tour options that cover the most popular sights starting in Jerusalem and central Israel and ending in Eilat. Below is a list of the attractions en route that can be incorporated into a one day tour. The Dead Sea on the way to Eilat

Private tour day along the Dead Sea with Masada and Ein Gedi

We being early from the center of Israel (Tel Aviv or Jerusalem) and make our way to the Dead sea and the famous Ein Gedi oasis. Here we enjoy a hike to the largest waterfall in the nature reserve and visit its best known sites. From here we drive to the world famous fortress of King Herod – Masada. Masada is spectacularly positioned on the top of the dramatic cliffs on the edge of the Dead Sea. We ascend the mountain by cable care on a 15 minute ride to the summit. ‘The Snake Path’ is available for people who wish to make the hike up. We explore this remarkable site, taking in its incredible history and spectacular views. After touring Masada we head down to the lowest place on earth, the shores of the Dead Sea. We a take dip the unique waters and try the famous dead sea mud . We drive through the Arava desert and reach the border crossing just north out of Eilat. 

 

 

Tour to Qumran Caves
Famous for being the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered which are now housed in the Israel Museum. We visit the 2,000 year old ruins which reveal to us the way of life of its inhabitants who had left Jerusalem to experience the heightened spirituality that living in the desert brings. Situated high above the ruins are the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered and we enjoy a short hike to the actual cave where the scrolls were concealed.

Situated on the edge of the Judean desert and the Dead Sea coast, the stunning oasis of Ein Gedi is regarded as one of Israel’s most important sites of natural beauty. Within the Ein Gedi nature reserve are the ancient springs and waterfalls that sustain this delicate environment. The hostile desert and extreme arid climate in which Ein Gedi is found makes this extraordinary oasis even more remarkable. At Ein Gedi we walk through David Valley to the famous waterfall of Ein Gedi – David Falls. Along the route we take in the delightful scenery, thriving vegetation and we may even get to glimpse the local wildlife. During the day Ibex (mountain goats) and hyrax are often spotted while other species to be found include; wolves, foxes, hyenas and caracal. After our Ein Gedi tour we stop for a hearty lunch at the local Ein Gedi Kibbutz.
After lunch we continue to the Dead Sea coast. The Dead sea is the lowest point on earth and its enchanting scenery is unlike anything else on earth. The healing powers of the Dead Sea are renowned the world over and visitors come here from across the globe, not only for good health but also for the world-renowned Dead Sea mud beauty treatments. The beautiful desert scenery, superb views and serene atmosphere of the Dead Sea have attracted visitors throughout the ages. We spend the afternoon at the Dead Sea’s famous Ein Gedi Spa, situated right on the coast, we enjoy the spa waters, get caked in the Dead Sea mud and spend some leisurely time gently floating in the splendid turquoise water while taking in the spectacular Dead Sea scenery. As the sunsets over the Dead Sea we shower and dress before heading back to the vehicle our return journey to the hotel.
