3 days Sinai and Cairo combined tour
This tour offers a wealth of Egypt’s most famous sights at great value for money. It includes the famous desert fortress of Saint Catherine’s monastery, Biblical Mount Sinai, the Pyramids and the main sightseeing highlights of Cairo listed above.
Day 1 – Departing Eilat early morning into Egypt and driving through the Sinai desert. Visitors have a choice between touring St. Catherine’s Monastery (closed Fridays and Sundays) or taking a scenic 3 hour camel ride*. Following the visit of the Monastery we climb Mt. Sinai. Later we drive to Cairo arrive there at night for a 4* hotel and commence our Cairo tour there.
Day 2 – After stopping for breakfast we start touring the highlights of Cairo, beginning with the Pyramids and the Sphinx. The nearby sites of Memphis and Sakkara can be added to the itinerary for an additional $45pp. From the pyramids we drive into Old Cairo to take in the main sights. We end the day with a scenic felucca boat experience, sailing along the Nile on a traditional Nile sailboat. Our hotel is a comfortable four-star accommodation but five-star upgrades are available if preferred
Day 3 – We spend the morning at the world famous Cairo Museum. Here many of Egypt’s priceless treasures are stored including the riches of Tutankhamun, most notably his iconic gold mask. In the afternoon we visit one of the world’s most famous and eye-catching markets, Cairo’s Khan al Khalili bazaar. If we have enough time, we visit the Mohamed Ali mosque and the famous Coptic churches. If Old Cairo or the Felucca cruise were skipped the day before due to time limitations, they can be included on this second afternoon. After the tour we commence our return journey arriving late at night in Eilat.
We assist you on the Egyptian side of the border but you will cross independently on the Israeli side. We will give you cash to pay for a taxi to your hotel. Taxies are usually available at the exit of the crossing. If not, please ask one of the security guards at the border to call a taxi for you. They will assist you with this.
You will need a night in a hotel either Eilat or on the Red Sea at the end of your tour.
We recommend spending the night in a resort on the Red Sea near Taba instead of spending the night in Eilat. Prices are usually lower than in Eilat and you will not have to cross the border in the middle of the night after a very long ride from Cairo.

3.5 days Sinai Desert and Cairo
Visitors wishing to experience the traditional walk up Mount Sinai for sunrise leave Israel the eve before (around 19:00) and drive straight to Mt. Sinai. We spend the night in a nice Bedouin hostel. The walk up is in the early hours to enjoy sunrise from the summit. While this is a popular choice we remind guests that it is quite a long uphill walk, especially for those not used to outdoor hiking.
